Florida native Kim Taylor’s songs have been featured in numerous television shows including Flashpoint, Heartland, Army Wives, Smallville, Cyberbully, One Tree Hill, Justified, The L Word,  and the UK's, Stella. Taylor has toured extensively with Over the Rhine and has tour supported numerous artists including Canada’s Ron Sexsmith, Australia’s Kasey Chambers, Kris Kristofferson, Ben Sollee, Grant Lee Phillips, and Grace Potter among many others. In 2013, she made her acting debut in the Sundance and Berlinale selected independent film, I Used To Be Darker, portraying a musician mother in the throes of divorce and on the brink of a new life. In 2016, she formed Water and Sand with Boston songwriter, Todd Thibaud.
In 2018, Taylor headlined several major Chinese music festivals (including the East Sea Festival and Strawberry Kunming) and garnered over 100,000 followers on China’s Premiere streaming service, NetEase Cloud Music.  
Kim Taylor’s 5th full-length record Songs of Instruction was created during a time of deep personal loss and change and was written as an instruction manual of sorts to navigate a difficult period. The 10 song collection was recorded in her current hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio and produced by Taylor and Justin Golden (1/2 of the songwriting duo Ellery).  The album title was inspired by the 13th century philosopher and mystic Meister Eckhart who wrote sermons of advice to young monks entitled, Talks of Instruction.
The first single “The Hard Way” was released October 15, 2018.
