简介:
An intimate recording showcasing the 1950s songs of Peggy Lee, June Christy and Julie London, Dim All The Lights is Hetty Kate’s debut album for ABC Jazz.
Favourites from the Great American Songbook, including Cry Me A River and I Get Along Without You Very Well, are brought to life by Hetty’s seductive vocals and a select band of Melbourne’s finest jazz musicians. Produced by Mal Stanley for ABC Classic FM’s Jazztrack, this classic collection is a tribute to the great singers of the past, from one of the most exciting young singers of today.
Since her performing debut in 2006, Hetty Kate has been invited to sing in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia, both with her own ensembles, and also as a guest vocalist for local jazz groups and
big bands.
Surrounded as a young girl by the music and romance of Broadway theatre, and films from the Golden Age of Hollywood, Hetty still finds inspiration through the enduring songs of the 1920s to the 1950s.
In 2014 Hetty appears on stage with James Morrison AM and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. She has also been invited to perform in Japan for the Sapporo International Jazz Festival and locally for the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Stonnington Jazz Festival and Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival.
