一头秀密及肩的半卷长发，俊秀的脸庞上有着深邃的眼眶，英挺的鼻梁，充满意志力的紧抿嘴唇与疏落有致的落腮胡髭，加上骨肉匀称的精瘦身材，形成如雕像一般完美的轮廓线条，这是来自巴尔干半岛文明古国卷——希腊的CHRIS SPHEERIS第一眼给人的印象。
说到世界乐坛中希腊籍的艺人，一般人大概只想到电子合成乐大师雅尼，殊不知CHRIS SPHEERIS已浸淫NEW AGE乐界达十年之久，只因缺乏跨国唱片公司集团作有计划的密集宣传，才会在知名度上逊于前者，但就音乐的质感而言，CHRIS重现爱琴海滨历史氛围的功力可说无人能及。从小多才多艺的CHRIS八岁就能在画布上画抽象画，十一岁开始尝试写诗，十二岁便为吉他作曲，到了十五岁他开始将其诗作谱上曲韵后，正式开创了他的作曲生涯。由于对宗教仪式特别感兴趣，CHRIS在旋律创作的部分受东正教、希腊民谣的影响极深，年轻时他尤其喜爱披头四、德彪西的音乐，大学时期远赴英国钻研哲学的经历更让他始终念念不忘希腊文化的根源，再加上嗜爱以旅行来观察欧洲各地的风土人情，也难怪他的专辑名称总是从探索人类心灵活动或怀想古文明风采的角度出发了。
