Artist: Stephanie Kirkham
Album: That Girl
Genre: Folk
Label: EMI
Release Date: December 2, 2003
Initially I heard her voice, so surprised that there are any differences from Lene Marlin, both of theirs seem to be soft, clear and wispy. Although Lene’s music is much more popular than Stephanie’s, I think that Stephanie express more inspirationally, all the lyrics are written on her own and to tell audiences about what she thought and what she experienced, not the things which flatter on the business.
The native English singer is walking out of the pop music, and her talent adequately embodied in this album which mixed with many styles that are different from the American styles, but not all the British-pop.
With the comfortable and brisk rhythm, just like telling a story about a shy girl; is dramatically showing her voice’s idiosyncrasy, may be I heard at one time, it is so familiar. When I saw the title, I thought that the song is as the same as Cara Dillon, but It is proved that mine was wrong, this song is so simple, by contrary, it is the best one in this album!!
Nowadays, it is so difficult for me to find music like this one, and I always try to find the music came from euro countries, if you are willing to tell about this, I wish that you can share them with me, thank you. Music is the very effective way to make friends!!
