简介:
I definitely recommend not only this album but all her discography to anyone which loves vocal jazz.
Elegance, sensuality and purity define one of the best voices on the current female jazz vocal scene, Laïka Fatien charts a course without breaking the link with the classics.
Come a little closer is the last CD album of Laïka Fatien I’ve recently had the pleasure to review, a prodigy of sensitivity and good taste. The whole album captured me from the first track and sent me into a spiral of emotions I haven’t experienced since the first time I listened to Patricia Barber. Fatien’s excellent technique and extraordinary performance capacity makes her a terrific and unique voice that transports you back to the atmosphere of the 60´s.
Many of her influences are reflected on the album, as an example, she performs two songs by Abbey Lincoln – “And Now I Hoped For Your Love” and “When Love Was You And Me”, and interprets Rodgers & Hart’s composition – “It’s Easy To Remember” and “Come Away Little Boy” by Carole King and her husband Gerry Goffin. The result is simply indescribable, the thirteen tracks are powerful talking jewels which are worth listening no matter what what mood you’re in.
