Nils Lindgren dreamed 'Christmas dreams' as a child and continues to dream it as an adult to this day ... Here he presents an album designed for contemplation, which in parts is downright meditative. All musicians, instrumentalists and singers (four vocalists, including Viktoria Tolstoy and Landgren himself) are convincing. The musicians even show exemplary courage for acoustic tenderness and thus reveal a lot about themselves. You have to be ready to get involved in this intimate musical level and the (obvious) thought "Kitsch!" To push aside, because this music is far from sweetish sentiment. Sound (it sometimes reminds of the quieter "pieces" by Stan Getz and the Gilbertos) and a selection of music (including many traditionals) are ideal for a quiet Christmas Eve with friends, who can be expected to enjoy the meditative, metaphysical high spirits of Lindgren's message. So nothing for die-hard contemporaries!
