Linkin Park，新世代的音乐顽童。无门无派，嬉笑怒骂游走于各门各派之间，博采众家之长，尽情炫出E时代音乐风情。不经意间，首张大碟《Hybird Theory 混合理论》狂卖1500万张，销量惊人。终成大器的Linkin Park在世界范围内狂掀阵阵Linkin'热浪，引发一场场“时尚风暴”。也因为乐队成员的亚裔血统而使亚洲不甘人后的新一代青年发现自身力量，冲锋陷阵于世界时尚的最前沿。Linkin Park带给我们的不仅仅是混合的音乐、前卫的时尚，在他的身后是新世代年轻人自由、博大、包容的精神世界。
Brad（吉他手）和Mike（Rapper，美日混血儿）因就读同一间高中而结识。两人在大约1996年组成了一支乐队，名为“Xero”。这支乐队的阵容同现在的相差很大，但也是Linkin Park的基础。开始，二人将Mike的睡房用作录音室，录出了第一支歌。随后二人在学校中认识了Rob（鼓手）。 Mike在Pasadena的艺术学校（设计科）认识了Joe（DJ，韩美混血儿），而Phoenix（现在的低音吉他手）是他在加州大学洛杉矶分校的宿友。经过多次变动后，成员大约是：Milke，Brad，Joe，Rob，Phoenix，Mark。因为乐队进展不佳，Mark决定离开，但他仍然是他们的好友。现在Mark则是Taproot的经纪人。乐队更名为Hybrid Theory“。因为主唱Mark Wakefield离队，需要找人填补他的位置。他们将一些小样寄给朋友，只要有兴趣便可将自己的录音寄给他们。此时Chester和老婆刚刚在亚利桑那凤凰城置下房产。一名朋友将HT的小样给了Chester，而他三日后就给乐队来电，表示十分有兴趣。如此迅速便收到回音，乐队十分兴奋，让Chester在电话中播放自己的录音。试听后，乐队与Chester一拍即合，Chester随后即启程前往旧金山与乐队会合。十六岁便开始录唱片做音乐的Chester笑着说：“才两岁时我就爱唱Foreigner的歌，我还有录成磁带。从开始说话时，我就一直告诉大家，我长大一定要当歌手。”
